Built on Generations. Breeding for the Next One.
Bar JM Livestock is a family-run livestock operation in Sierra Valley near Loyalton, California. Jillian and Jason work alongside their daughters, Joey Ann and Jessy, raising and showing beef cattle and Boer goats while building a breeding program focused on quality, function, and purposeful genetics.
Our daughters are hands-on in the program—owning, raising, caring for, and exhibiting many of the animals featured here. For our family, the show ring is only part of the goal. We want cattle and goats that can compete, return to the herd, and help build the next generation.

Old Foundation Lines. New Genetics. Purposeful Matings.
Our cow herd combines maternal lines our family has kept for 15–18+ years with carefully selected modern show and breeding genetics.
Generations of Family Females
Mama and Miss Kitty trace to a cow Jillian owned for 18 years, Harper comes from her sister, and Cookie represents another long-held Rafter C5 line whose dam was in the herd for more than 15 years.
Genetics We’re Building Around
Our females carry genetics including Wulf and COLE Limousin, Roberti Angus, Here I Am, Six Mile Red Angus, Cashin’ Checks, HOOS Addiction, Pure Reflection, Smokin’ Bob, and Told Ya So.
Selected for the Female
We use AI and natural-service sires to complement individual females rather than following a one-size-fits-all plan. Recent matings have included HBL and 44 Farms Angus genetics.
