Our Family & History

Built Together Across Generations

Bar JM Livestock works alongside Rafter C5 Livestock as one family-managed cattle and Boer goat program.

Our Story

Family Owned. Family Operated.

Bar JM Livestock is a family-owned livestock operation based near Loyalton in Northern California’s Sierra Valley. Jillian and Jason Freeto work together to raise quality beef cattle and Boer goats with an emphasis on sound genetics, responsible care, and youth development.

Jillian manages the breeding program, including artificial insemination, herd health, daily livestock management, feeding, calving, kidding, and show preparation. Jason plays an active role in caring for the livestock, handling the many behind-the-scenes jobs, and supporting the family’s cattle and goat program.

The operation works alongside Jillian’s parents and their Rafter C5 Livestock program. Together, the families continue a multigenerational tradition of raising practical, quality livestock.

Joey Ann and Jessy actively own, raise, and exhibit cattle and Boer goats. Ownership varies by animal and is identified throughout the website.

Beyond the Sale

Helping Families Build Successful Projects

Our support does not end when an animal leaves the ranch. We enjoy helping youth exhibitors and their families navigate the full market-project experience—from selecting an animal and building a feeding plan to monitoring growth, daily care, show preparation, and troubleshooting along the way.

Every animal and every exhibitor is different. Our goal is to offer practical, honest guidance that helps families make confident decisions while keeping the animal healthy and the project enjoyable.
